The latest restaurant to land in Toronto’s upscale Yorkville neighbourhood is the revolutionary modern steakhouse NAO (New and Old). Created by Hanif Harji, Charles Khabouth and Tim Foley along with Chef/Partner Stuart Cameron, NAO is the brining their own unique approach to streak through their innovative dining experience. Featuring a great selection of locally and globally sourced food, their premium cuts of meats have been carefully selected from the worlds best vendors. They have also chosen a variety of cuts of meat hand-butchered exclusive to NAO to serve to guests.
Balancing their steak menu with a variety of seafood and seasonal vegetable dishes, Chef Cameron is re-interpreting the traditional meals found in a steakhouse. Complimenting each dish with the spices and flavours of the Asia-Pacific, each meal is inspired by regionally specific traditional ingredients using house-made sauces to accent their premium cuts of meat. Meats are paired with inventive side dishes such as shiitake mushrooms barrel-aged in soy sauce, yakatori-grilled baby yellow corn basted with house-made miso butter, crispy homemade tofu coated in ground chorizo and red bean paste sauce, and baked potatoes cooked in Wagyu fat.
“We want to create a dining experience that retains the authenticity of its ingredients and highlights the exceptional quality of the cuts of meat we are importing exclusively for NAO,” says Icon Legacy, CEO, Hanif Harji. “Through numerous research trips to Asian-Pacific countries, we were able to explore a cuisine that we felt could be accurately represented locally, pairing it with the finest cuts of meat available in the world.”
“We have meticulously researched and developed a menu that appeals to steak lovers but also has the diversity to captivate clients who want to be more adventurous and are interested in lighter fare…” added Chef Stuart Cameron.
Stop by for a bite to eat and stay to enjoy one of their fourteen signature cocktails in their stunning collections of vintage glassware.
