Anthropologie, one of my favourite women’s apparel and accessories, home furnishings and décor stores, has just landed on Queen Street West in Toronto. Located in the heart of Toronto’s design district, this new store is the perfect fit for this creative and artistic community. A 7,000 square foot Church has been transformed into a unique retail experience to house their eclectic array of merchandise reflecting the nature of the Queen West community. This 19th century church has been restored with the aid of local artists and artisans to showcase original features such as the arched stained glass windows, fireplace and casework. Anthropologie also preserved a double-height space at the center of the store, complementing it with new elements including a reclaimed wood and glass staircase leading to a second story catwalk as well as employing a full-team of visual artists to create site-specific art installations for the windows and interiors.
