Grace Lee is the Lead Makeup Artist for Maybelline New York and worked with all of the designers who presented at World MasterCard Fashion Week last week to create looks that complemented their new collections. This season’s beauty essential is The Nudes palette from Maybelline New York. This versatile range of eye shadows gives you the perfect brown or taupe to match any look or skin tone. From smoky eyes, to a more androgynous contouring look, this pallette adds the perfect amount of drama and dimension for any occasion. You lip colour should also be playful and bright this season with Maybelline’s Colour Sensational Rebel Bloom lipstick available in a wide range of vivid tones. Keep your brows in check with the Eye Studio Brow Drama and emphasize those flirty and fabulous lashes with the Lash Sensational Mascara. For further details on their products and looks, check out Maybellline‘s website!
Jorge Joao, Redken’s lead stylist, along with an elite team of hairstylists, is working on 500 models over the 40 shows this week at World MasterCard Fashion Week. Jorge’s biggest tip for achieving a look that will last all evening long is to find a style that works with your natural hair texture. This season it is all about giving your hairstyle that extra chic edge with an aggressive side part. The most popular styles we’re seeing this season are polished asymmetrical and geometric to play with different shapes of your hair. This summer, your “must-have” products should include Fashion Works 12 (a light finishing spray with 24 hour humidity control), Fashion Waves (a sea salt spray that gives you that perfect disheveled texture) and Two Day Extender (which is a dry shampoo that helps your hair last a little bit longer!) For more styling tips, visit Redken’s website to help you take your hair to the next level.
According to Essie’s lead nail artist Rita Remark, this season it is all about creating unique designs on your nails. During World MasterCard Fashion Week, designers were asking for something more than just a base colour on their models hands to complement their designs in a creative way. Essie was backstage all week long giving the girls quick manicures in a flash with Essie’s Quick Dry Drops. For more of this season’s hottest colours, check out the full collection on Essie’s website.
SOIA & KYO gave a more sophisticated look to a classic neutral with an ombre nail to emphasize the colours in their Fall/Winter Collections in a purple tone featuring smoking’ hot and chinchily.
Whereas Mackage played with shapes by giving all of their girls the chevron pattern to create a distinct 70’s inspired look with the rich berry naughty red along with the matte about you top coat.
However, my favourite style this week was Melissa Nepton’s ‘romantic warrior’ nail that complimented the texture in her collection perfectly with a quarter moon style in after school boy blazer and no place like chrome.
