Without a doubt, brunch is my favourite meal of the day. So when I was invited to try the Italian Bubbles + Brunch last Sunday at Cibo Wine Bar (522 King Street West) I couldn’t say no! Located along the vibrant King West Strip in Toronto, Cibo Wine Bar brings your rustic Italian cooking in a contemporary setting. For only $35.00 you get the chance to enjoy their full buffet spread along with a class of Processco (or a Mimosa) to celebrate the weekend with. This sophisticated downtown restaurant is the perfect place to bring your family together on the weekend yet sophisticated enough that it works well for an afternoon with friends. Decorated with rustic wood that is embellished with modern finishes, the restaurant alone is quite the sight to see.
Awarded the Marchio Ospitalita Italiana by the Italian government for authenticity, this 200-seat restaurant puts their spin on fine Italian dinning in a fun brunch atmosphere. Offsetting the traditional antipasto favourites with the power to customize your meal, their brunch not only allows you to have your eggs made fresh to order with your choice of Italian inspired toppings, but they also have a pizza and pasta bar that is cooked right before your eyes! And it doesn’t stop there! If you still have any room left, they have a delicious spread of bite-sized desserts and cakes to choose from.
But a great brunch is not all Cibo Wine Bar has to offer. With a full week of daily events, the regular menu is worth the visit to this restaurant for. Offering an affordable 2 course prix-fixe lunch menu (a la carte options available as well), stop by their patio this summer to indulge and escape the weekday grind. Or, plan a special evening out, try one of their homemade pasta dishes (all pasta is made in house!), a wood-oven pizza or some of their more traditional fare. And if you’re still not convinced, with over 2,000 bottles of wine stored in their glass encased wine room, I’m sure a nice bottle of red or white to help change your mind.
