#CREATOR: Marjorie Camiré Céramiste

  1. Can you tell us a little bit about your craft and how you found your niche? After completing a degree in visual arts, I shifted my practice towards ceramics. I carefully handmake functional pieces in my studio in Montréal. Both refined and nostalgic, I like to revisit different styles in ceramic art with minimalism in mind. I like to create objects that can be used at home with multiple functions, due to their simplicity.
  2. What inspires your work? I’m inspired by surprises in my work. Due to the nature of my work, I have to be focused and thoughtful, so when the inevitable mistake happens, I try to gain inspiration from it. I’m also inspired by material richness and pure lines.
  3. What are you most excited about in working with eBay on this capsule collection? My company is extremely local so I am happy that this collaboration will allow Canadians from coast to coast to discover my work. I am proud to participate in this collaboration as the profits will benefit Evergreen charity, which aligns with my organization’s values, such as eco-responsibility and sustainability, as my creations are all made from local clay that comes from different Canadian provinces.
  4. Any advice for aspiring #creators? Try to be audacious with your creations and authentic in the way you work.
