Looking for something fun to do this summer? Why not head out of the city to the Burl’s Creek Event Grounds. With over 700 acres of pristine grounds only 15 minutes north of Barrie, Burl’s Creek Event Grounds is the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful summer. From camping to farmers market, there is plenty to do there for the whole family all summer long! This summer, Burl’s Creek will be the home of some of the most anticipated music festivals, sporting events as well as the weekly OK Friday Barn Fair.
Every Friday from June 12to October 9th, the OK Friday Barn Fair will host a bustling market space featuring vendors and local farmers from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. This fair will be partnering with Karma Project, a non-profit food co-op that’s goal is to help sustainable and accessible local food system for the community of Huronia to help further strengthen and grow current food security programming in order to address hunger, eliminate food deserts, and fill in the gaps that exist within the food system.
Stop by on your way up to the cottage or plan a day trip to explore this exciting fair filled with artisans, bakers, crafter and farming who will be selling organic and fair-trade produce, meat, cheese, maple syrup, as well as vegan and gluten-free options. We’re also excited to check out some of the many local Toronto restaurants who will also be setting up shop at the OK Friday Barn Fair. Swing by to taste some of the delicious eats from restaurateur Anthony Rose (Fat Pascha, Rose and Sons and Big Crow) or pick up some seafood from Rodney’s Oyster House with wines from Norman Hardie to match. Each week, live musical acts from the indie label Arts & Crafts will entertain guests with artists ranging from the local talent to acclaimed Canadian musicians.
