Lucky for me I enjoyed a day in Seminyak, Bali back in January – but the current weather in Toronto is so hot and cold I have been day dreaming about Seminyak for a while. There is so much to do and see in Seminyak, filled with coffee shops, shopping, spas and even day parties if you are planning to head to Bali in the future make sure you stop in Seminyak! I thought I would share my day in Seminyak.
10AM – Hit the Spa!
There are so many spas in the main area and appointments are not necessary. I thought I would treat myself to mani/pedi but I was so surprised at the costs that I ended up enjoying a 2 hour spa experience that not only included my mani/pedi but also a 1 hour massage & blow out while my toes dried.
12PM – Grab a coffee!
With all the beautiful coffee shops around I wandered into one close to the spa to get a quick snack and enjoy some caffeine. Low and behold I wandered into one of the most coveted spots known for their Latte Portraits! The Moose Espresso Bar is a sweet spot that offers great foot, drinks, and especially lattes.
1PM – Hit the shops!
I headed down Jalan Petitenget and found such a variety of shops from home decor, to traditional goods, to cult favourites and even a Flea market! Some of my favourite shops were the Skull Shop, Rabia Jewellery, and the Seminyak Flea Market.
6PM – Grab A Drink!
After all the shopping I worked up an appetite and decided to try Suckling Pig which Indonesia is known for. On my walk back to meet my husband, I stopped by a small restaurant and grabbed a cocktail while I waited for dinner. The bartender recommended The Slingy Shandy which was absolutely delicious, known as a tequila based drink this restaurant actually used a dry gin instead with white grapefruit juice!
Now, I didn’t mention what my husband was doing this whole time. He decided to spend his day in Seminyak getting inked, Bali is known for being a hub of tattoo artists and if you are interested in getting inked while there you do need to book appointments with reputable artists far in advance. Although, be mindful that tattoos do heal differently especially when your body is out of its elements. We had a wonderful time at Artful Ink and would highly recommend them. They are professional and have a very talented roster of artists!
