This week I had the chance to attend the program launch at the Society for Arts and Technology, for the 13th edition of the Festival de Musique Emergente. As it was my first time attending an event for The Creators Commune and a lover of music, I was really interested to see what this event was going to be all about. The festival itself takes place in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec from September 3rd to the 6th 2015.
All though I had never heard of this festival before, I was really exited to see what the line-up was going to look like. After looking at the artists that will be performing this year, I was really pleasantly surprised. Their line-up is bursting with talented artists from Quebec and all around the world. From rockn’roll, alternative, electro and dance, there is going to be awesome acts to please every sort of music fan.
The Festival kicks off on Thursday, September 3rd with a free music Quebecor 5à7, the perfect way for any festival to start. Followed by an electro-pop bonfire with Syzzors and afterwards Doldrums, who will be warming up the crowds for the evenings headline act, the talented Ariane Moffat.
From FME regulars such as Galaxie, Navet Confit, Ponctuation, Philippe Brach and Geneviève et Matthieu that will be bringing everything they’ve got like they do every year. To globally recognized acts like Kid Koala who will be closing the festival this year.
Not only with Quebec acts, there will be artists from all around the globe. Deerhoof and The Dodos, two Californian bands with many years of experience will be grooving out with their rock and experimental beats. Among others abroad bands, Ropoporose and Totorro from France, Puts Marie from Switzerland and Fleshgod Apocalypse from Italy.
Festival passports and hosting packages will be going on sale starting Wednesday, July 29th. Individual tickets go on sale August 5th. You better act because I have a feeling that the tickets will sell out fast!
Starting July 23, you can download the FME app available on Apple Store and Google play store, you can find them on all social medias also. To get further updates and info, head tho the FME’s official blog, La bouche croche starting late August and listen to radio CFME, which will be airing on August 24th on radio.fmeat.org.
If you are a faithful festival goer you won’t be disappointed with this years exceptional line-up. And for all the first-timers out there, this is definitely going to be something you’ve never experienced before in your life.
