A few months ago we told you all about one of our favourite hotel’s within Toronto, The Gladstone Hotel in our profile. Providing a home for the art and culture of the eclectic Queen West neighbourhood, The Gladstone Hotel celebrated its’ 3rd annual Grow Op exhibition during the last week of April. Curated by the very talented Victoria Taylor and Graham Teeple with Britt Welter-Nolan, this four-day exhibition celebrates innovative ideas and conceptual responses to landscape, gardens, art, and place-making under this year’s theme, the culture of landscape. This multi-disciplinary art exhibition from a range of creative disciplines to bring together art and urbanism together under one roof probing us to ask the questions: “How can landscape architecture be a driving force in the creation of sustainable cities?”
From GROW OP run talks, to film nights and themed after parties; this weekend long event brought together some of the most creative and cultural minds in the city. Sunday celebrated the final day of this exhibition with the Urban Agricultural Fair helping to raise the public awareness on art and the practice of urban agriculture with workshops from Bowery Project, Chef Jamie Kennedy in collaboration with Fresh City Farms and much more!
