Help Send A Kid To Camp This Summer

Mixing the fun of portaging with the satisfaction of raising money for a good cause, the annual Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids™ returns to Toronto on May 30 as 130 former campers will Strap canoes to their backs and embark on a 15-km paddle and portage through Toronto’s waterfront to help send at-risk kids to summer camp. Summer camp is an amazing experience for adolescents and young children from ages 7 to 17 to learn great leadership and team building skills. However that opportunity is not an option for everyone.

“Summer camp has a tremendously positive and lasting impact on kids, particularly when they have limited access to recreational activities throughout the school year. We see that camp builds self-confidence, sparks lasting friendships and teaches vital leadership skills. Every child deserves to go to camp,” said Kate Horton, Executive Director, Amici Camping Charity.

Thanks to the generous support of those involved in the Amici Camping Charity, they have raised over $415,000 to send 415 at risk youths to one of the 35  participating camps all over Ontario.
