“How to Have a Stress Free Family Trip” as seen on The Morning Show

This morning, I had the pleasure of going on The Morning Show on Global to share some of my travel tips for families. With March Break just around the corner, travelling with the little ones should be something you’re looking forward too, instead of being stressed out about. To help you plan for your spring break getaway, here are some of my must-haves to bring with me when on the road with my nieces and nephews.

One of the toughest parts about traveling with little ones is meal times. As you find yourself out of your regular routine, on the road and in an unfamiliar space, your tot can feel the stress of traveling as well. That’s why I never leave the house without a snack. Whether I’m taking my nieces and nephew on an adventure around the city or we’re planning a weekend away as a one big family, having their favourite foods in tow can help sooth if in the biggest of meltdowns. My favourite are Rice Krispies Squares now made in the same ooey gooey way but with brown rice. These treats are the perfect pick for every mom (and aunt) looking for a snack that is low in saturated fat, trans fat-free, made with no artificial colours with eight grams of a whole grains in one bar. They are also sold in individual package bars making them the perfect road trip or mid-museum treat for hungry little ones.

Keeping Kandoo Flushable Wipes handy helps prepare your little one in even the most unfamiliar of bathroom situations. They are the perfect size of little hands, clean up to 30% better than toilet paper and moistened with lotion to ensure a thorough clean. Boogie Wipes are made with natural saline to help dissolve mucus and are extra soft that moisturizes even the tiniest of noses with vitamin E, camomile and aloe.
If you’re planning on heading to a warm destination, be sure to have enough Coppertone Kids Sunscreen Lotion SPF 60 that provides broad spectrum protection, retains SPF 80 minutes after activities in water or sweating and is recolonized by the Canadian dermatologist association for being hypoallergenic and non-irritating.
Kids also struggle with seasonal allergy symptoms more than you may realize. Help keep their symptoms under control by adding Claritin Kids® to your packing list. It is a great-tasting syrup with non-drowsy 24-hour relief so kids can stay alert and enjoy the vacation.

To help your little ones prevent and treat nausea, vomiting and dizziness due to motion sickness, the GRAVOL Kids™ Quick Dissolve Chewables cherry flavoured tablets offer relief without needing to take the tablets with water. There is also a liquid version for the little ones who prefer the cherry flavour.

It’s also important to think about how you’re getting around once you reach your destination. The Cosco Scenera Next Convertible Car Seat is one of the best value car seats perfect for the busy family looking for something safe, lightweight and easy to use while on the road. It TSA approved and can shift from rear to forward facing with deeper side wings for impact protection.

The Tiny Love Take Along Mobile that fits pack & plays, travel cots, infant carriers,
strollers and bassinets giving you 30 minutes of continuous music and 5 different tunes for your baby to enjoy a sense of home while on the road!

During the segment as well, I shared some of my favourite tech items to bring with you from Best Buy while you travel like the GoPro Hero and the Microsoft Surface tablet that are bound to keep your children amused for hours and hours.

All packed up in the one of these stylish bags from Ecco that I used as a chic version of a diaper bag. On set, we had the Ecco SP Backpack is large enough to hold tech like a tablet and sturdy enough for your books. Or the Ecco E Day L Backpack will keep your tech secure and your look sharp with this intelligently designed backpack.
