This Super Bowl Sunday, instead of cracking open a cold beer, why not try a refreshing cocktail instead. In honour of the sunny state of Texas where the game is held, I’m making a bright apertif made with the Campari. Campari is made from the infusion of bitter herbs, aromatic plants and fruit in alcohol and water originating in Novara, Italy in 1860. I’m sharing of my favourite cocktail recipes for you to try, but for more ideas, visit Campari’s website.
CAMPARI ORANGE PASSION
This metropolitan and sophisticated reinterpretation of the Campari Orange has an irresistible sweet-bitter taste.
– 1 1⁄4 oz Campari
– 2 slices of orange
– 1 teaspoon brown sugar
– 3oz (top) orange juice
Method: Place orange slices and brown sugar into a tall glass and crush to a pulp. Add crushed ice, Campari and orange juice and gently stir. Garnish with a red cocktail cherry.
