Runway Recap: Day 5 Of World MasterCard Fashion Week

This week World MasterCard Fashion Week hosted more than 30,000 guests with over 35 designers in a constructed runway venue with 800 seats located in an intimate studio space adjacent to the main catwalk. Last night concluded the week long runway presentations with Huntress, Brit Wacher, Mikhael Kale, HD Homme, Stephen Caras, Madame Moje and Mikael D. Come behind the scenes with us as we explore the Spring/Summer 2015 collections of the best fashion designers in Canada.

Huntress

Featuring gorgeous gemstone from Zambia, Madagascar, Vietnam and more, Huntress has developed a strong line of luxury jewellery and handbags. With their ornate detailing, the designs of these accessories are both beautiful and unique. Created by Diane Robinson and Rob LeBlanc, Huntress’s new collection embodies their vision of strong, statement pieces created from gems they have hunted all around the globe to find.

Brit Wacher

Hailing from Montreal, Brit Wacher is a forced to be reckoned with in the Canadian fashion industry. Her elevated designs merge the ideals of fashion and science imprinting a new perspective through her garments.Her line was filled with asymmetrical cuts creating refreshing and clean pieces. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection is based on different elements of the universe as new colours are emerging through her exploration of the plants and other universes far away.

Mikhael Kale

Incorporating geometric shapes through interlocking blocks and patterns, MIKHAEL KALE has developed a Spring/Summer 2015 collection by emphasizing the female silhouette by highlight the form in a new way. Known for his impeccable attention to detail, Mikhael’s conceptual approach to fashion and design has result in a avant-garde collection of stand-out women’s wear.

HD Homme

HD Homme is synonymous with luxury design, as they have become one of Toronto’s most sought after and elite fashion labels. Men’s wear designer Hussein Dhalla has redefined contemporary suiting through his collection of ready-to-wear and custom evening wear for the modern gentleman. As a renaissance in men’s high fashion is upon us, HD Homme is leading the pack with their Spring/Summer 2015 resonates old Hollywood glamour with a new world appeal.

Stephan Caras

Romantic, bold and radiant. Stephan Caras’s new collection of women’s cocktail and evening wearing exposes the confident tailored look in his collection Luminous. His line pairs fitted jackets with shorts, experimenting with jumpers and creating delicately shaped dresses out of soft silk taffeta and organza structured bustiers in shimming golds, light ivories and rich champagne hues. His Spring/Summer 2015 collection reveals the subtle sensuality of the female form in wearable textured combinations.

Madame Moje

From the creative minds of Hamed Emitaz and Creative Director Malashnee Naidoo, the Parisian-inspired line Madame Moje is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in Canadian fashion. Aspiring to make every women who wears their clothes feel classy and commanding. Their Spring/Summer 2015 collection was influenced by the film Gone With the Wind, making every women feel as luminous as Scarlet O’Hara. Putting their on spin on classic pieces, Madame Moje’s collection is beaming with gorgeous gowns in a variety of shades, colours and textures.

Mikael D

World MasterCard Fashion Week concluded with the exciting luxury fashion house of MIKAEL D. His Spring/Summer 2015 collection “Eden Digital” is a high intensity line made with elite fabrics and flawless craftsmanship. This season, evening wear has gone avant-garde with his line of geometric shaped gowns rich with detail, colour and texture. Designer Mikael Derderian draws his inspiration from his own cultural influences of Montreal to Beirut, Italy to France creating a red carpet worthy gowns.
