The TIFF Diaries: The Gifting Suites

The IT Lounge
This year marks the 10th anniversary of NKPR’s IT Lounge and we are celebrating this millstone with its new location! In its inaugural year located in the Festival headquarters of the Toronto International Film Festival and designed by Caspar Haydar, the IT Lounge has teamed up with W Magazine and celebrity photographer Caitlin Cronenberg (daughter of acclaimed Canadian director David Cronenberg) who will create classic, yet emotionally driven portraits of celebrities for this week’s highly anticipated celebrity guests. This year guests also get the chance to visit a selection of a-list brands that have been carefully selected to help you make the most of your festival experience. Whether you are looking for a bite to eat from Barilla Pasta, some outfit inspiration from Tom Tailor, a little bit of relaxation from Saje Natural Wellness or a touch-up on your hair from Goody, the IT lounge is your one-stop shop for all of the essentials. And if you’re busy chasing the stars during TIFF, you might as well get their autograph in style with Cross Pens. As always, NKPR has partnered with Sequence who helps convert at-risk youth into local artisans in Tepecoyo, El Salvadore in an effort to positively impact their lives by teaching them this trade. Natasha Koifman herself has also created a philanthropic fragrance TWENTYSIX with Aromacology to raids funds for Artists for Peace and Justice.

Bask-It-Style

Back it it’s 7th year, the Bask-It-Style lounge from Glo Communication has become the one stop shop for everything a celebrity may need. From a Neutrogena beauty lounge that highlights their latest product developments to a reading nook housing DK Publishing and authors Colin Campbell (Free Days with George) and L.C Moon (A Bedtime Story), what more could you ask for than to escape the hustle and bustle of TIFF in this oasis in the Private Estates Above the Shangri-La Hotel. For the fashion savvy; Calvin Klein, Van Heusen, Warner and other heritage brands were there to show the latest in their collections while local jewellery designer Studio1098 left guest looking red-carpet ready with their fine pieces (launching their latest collection in partnership with CANFAR). Doi Chaang Coffee is keeping you going with their fun (and witty) fair trade blends while Old Tomorrow CPA is getting the party started. And a lounge just isn’t a lounge without a charitable partner. This year, Bask-It-Style is proud to partner with the Starlight Children’s Foundation; an organization dedicated to giving laughter and happiness back to children going through serious illness who is hosting their Tea & Tiara’s fundraising event on October 25th.
