Tips for Traveling with Children

This week, I stopped by the studio to share some of my tips for traveling with children. With the Family Day weekend and March Break quickly approaching, it’s important to pack smart to help you travel the world with ease. Here are my essentials to help you turn your vacation into a relaxing getaway, even with the little ones in tow.

Travel Safely
As you’re exploring the world, the first thing you should consider is how you’re going to get there. And no matter whether you’re planning a road trip or flying to a warm destination during the holidays, finding ways to transport your little ones safely is always important. For the road trip, my top pick is the Safety 1st Grow and Go 3-in-1 Car Seat. The Safety 1st Grow and Go 3-in-1 Car Seat is built to grow with your child as its adaptable design transforms from a rear-facing car seat to a forward-facing car seat and finally to a belt-positioning booster seat to adjust to accommodate your little one as they grow.

The Safety 1st Step and Go 2.0 Travel System answers the problem of how to fold down the stroller when your hands are full with the simple push of a pedal. The included onBoard™35 infant car seat features Side Impact Protection and extended use from 4-35 pounds with a center front adjust harness for the best fit as baby grows. This car seat also its in with 5 different angles to help it fit into any car but is also lightweight and equipped with the Carry Curve handle making it easy and comfortable to carry.

Keep Your Kids Entertained
Sometimes it’s the hours of travel heading to the destination, or the downtime in the hotel can prove to be the toughest when traveling with children. It’s the smallest of humans who need the largest amount of stuff. Keeping the kids entertained doesn’t have to be tough with the right games. With over 1 billion listings on, I’ve found some old school card games that are affordable and are bound to keep them entertained for hours on end.

When you’re on the road, it’s always best to expect the unexpected, and pack for whatever you may need on the road. But instead of packing everything in your medicine cabinet, here are my “must-haves” while on vacation.

Keeping Kandoo Flushable Wipes handy helps prepare your little one in even the most unfamiliar of bathroom situations. They are the perfect size of little hands, clean up to 30% better than toilet paper and moistened with lotion to ensure a thorough clean. Boogie Wipes are made with natural saline to help dissolve mucus and are extra soft that moisturizes even the tiniest of noses with vitamin E, camomile and aloe.
IMG_7844If you’re planning on heading to a warm destination, be sure to have enough Coppertone Kids Sunscreen Lotion SPF 60 that provides broad spectrum protection, retains SPF 80 minutes after activities in water or sweating and is recolonized by the Canadian dermatologist association for being hypoallergenic and non-irritating.
IMG_7825To help your little ones prevent and treat nausea, vomiting and dizziness due to motion sickness, the GRAVOL Kids™ Quick Dissolve Chewables cherry flavoured tablets offer relief without needing to take the tablets with water.
IMG_7845Kids also struggle with seasonal allergy symptoms more than you may realize. Help keep their symptoms under control by adding Claritin Kids® to your packing list. It is a great-tasting syrup with non-drowsy 24-hour relief so kids can stay alert and enjoy the vacation.
